High frequency is great for acne, blemished and congested skin, but also good for mature or ageing skin as it has a tightening effect on the skin. High frequency stimulates circulation, helps oxygenate the skin and it has an antiseptic effect, which kills bacteria so is very effective on acne prone skin. It is ideal to help improve the condition of oily areas such as the T-zone on the face. This method uses a glass electrode which is moved slowly over the skin. The current passes from the electrode and is dispersed over the skin. The warmth generated in the tissues will produce the beneficial effects for the skin. To destroy bacteria and aid healing of acne and pustular prone skin the sparking method will be used- when the electrode is held just off the skin(the current jumps across the gap forming a spark and the oxygen in the air is ionized and forms ozone, which destroys bacteria and promotes the healing of pustules and papules). Contraindications: Cancer; Pregnancy; Cuts and abrasions; Vascular conditions and hypersensitive skins; Metal fillings(excessive) or heavy bridge work); Sinus blockages; Skin disorders/diseases, infections; sunburn; Drink or drugs.
